Fall detection on Ultra 2 didn't work in a motorcycle accident

The crash detection on Ultra 2 watch didn't work the one time we really needed it. My husband was in a 50 mph motorcycle collision while wearing his watch. The crash detection was on and my cell number was identified as the emergency contact to call. It never called 911 or me. (Fortunately, he was with a group and 911 was called and he's okay now). But is there a reason why the watch didn't work as expected? Is this a common problem?

My watch told me that I had had a bad fall last week when all I was doing was wrestling a supermarket trolley from the stack.

Despite best efforts, there continue to be false positives and false negatives. There are also a lot of success stories. That is the nature of unpredictable movements of the human body.
