AirPods Pro 2 firmware update not completing

Hello Apple Support,

I am contacting you regarding my AirPods Pro 2 (USB-C) with serial number D********W.

I am trying to update the firmware to the latest version (8B21), but the update does not complete even after leaving my AirPods on charge near my iPhone 14 Pro running iOS 26+ for over 30–40 minutes.

I have tried the following steps:

Keeping the AirPods in the charging case with the lid open

Keeping iPhone unlocked and nearby

Checking Bluetooth version repeatedly

Forgetting the device and reconnecting

Despite this, the firmware remains at version 5A377.

Could you please assist me in ensuring that my AirPods Pro 2 receive the latest firmware update?

I have updated my AirPods Pro 2 by listening to music on my iPhone for some minutes and then placing the AirPods back into the case, connecting the iPhone and the AirPods to the charger and letting them charge for a while, next to each other.
