How do I recover a lost Apple Notes document that was emailed but disappeared?

I’ve spent literally hours writing a document on my Apple Notes. My daughter set me a challenge to write my life story. I decided to write it in Apple Notes on my phone so I could voice dictate it rather than have to type it laboriously. I decided to email myself a copy tonight but then it disappeared. I received the email but it said the owner (me?) had stopped sharing it or you don't have permission to open it?

I've tried looking in deleted items folder to no avail. my hours of work have seemingly vanished. Help!
