Facebook Messenger icon changes on iPad
Since I’ve moved to an iPad Pro 2025 the Facebook Messenger icon changes, after briefly showing the usual icon
Reinstalling did it. I’m still surprised of myself for NOT trying that first ;-)

if it was me then I would Restart your iPad - Apple Support
if it still acted up then I would delete the app and maybe restart again and then
reinstall it
