Apple Maps using 22 GB of storage on iPhone

A few days ago apple maps was taking up 18 GB of storage, topping every other app. I thought it was normal and I had just missed it during all the times I checked my storage. Today it now takes up 22.49 GB of storage, I'm at 126.51 GB out of 128 GB, I saw something online saying I need to update my iPhone but pretty much everything else on my phone has information that I don't want to delete. I have tried uninstalling the app, it still shows up in storage saying it takes up 22 GB of storage. I have no offline maps, I cleared my significant location history, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to fix this issue. I'm currently on iOS Version 18.6.2, this is an iPhone 13 Pro.

I use an older iOS version and you are right, it isn't there. I tend to use a different mapping app which is friendlier for offline use (I use mine mostly when abroad and do not have constant access to the Internet) and you can delete unwanted maps from the app itself. I suggest you try to do a general web search about this. I see many questions and solutions of varying effectiveness. Sometimes the solution is to delete the app entirely, including all its data, but for some it requires an entire resetting of your device.

By the way, same for Google Maps.

Sooo... that has nothing to do with maps... my question was about fixing the issue with apple maps, not large attachments that I have in messages. The thing that is very large and consuming my space is apple maps. Just so you know, when you press "Review Large Attachments" it starts from the largest attachment at the top. This did not help me at all, please don't respond if you don't know what you're talking about.
