My Face ID is not working

i wanted to sign out my icloud but they are asking me turn off my stolen device protection off whiles they requesting for face id before i can turn it off meanwhile my face id is not working please can you help me to sign out

One person reported that simply cleaning the lens got Face ID working again —> Face ID stopped working and will not reset - Apple Community
