No Passcode Expiration Warning is displayed - iPhone Locks out

Hello Community!

We have the issue, that MDM controlled devices do not show a notification when the iPhone Locking Passcode has expired. The current setting is 365 days. After this period, the passcode appears not valid and the users are not able to unlock the iPhone anymore until we reset the passcode by MDM.

Do you have any idea?

iOS does not show passcode-expiration warnings automatically unless the MDM specifically defines a grace period. This has been the case through iOS 15–iOS 18 and continues in iOS 26 for enterprise-managed devices.

This is working as designed, not a bug.
