iPhone 15 Pro with iOS 26.1 battery draining quickly despite low power mode

I have an iphone 15 pro with IOS 26.1. I have to charge battery twice a day or have my phone on Low power mode in order to last at least a day (I mean daytime). Backgroun app refresh is off. Notifications are to a minimal. Location services is on while using the app. Despite of doing all these, battery does not last at all. Please advise. Thank you.

  • As suspected and guessed in my original post, Instagram is your top consumer in the latest screenshot. This seems to be a common contributor to battery drain. You can test with removing the app and using the web version for a day to see if it makes a difference.
  • WhatsApp is out of control spending more time with background processes than what you are actually using the app for. I don't know if there is a cumulative affect of using both the individual and business app.
  • It is unusual to see Mail consuming that much battery, so I would check to see if you can update the Fetch Schedule. Mail Account that do not support the Push Notification rely on a Fetch Schedule to check for new emails.

You will see each of those 4 Meta apps being updated as much as 13 times every month, so you are getting about 52 updates downloaded to your device every month. There has been many articles written on the battery usage of Meta apps that you can find with a web search. They affect both Apple and Android devices and even Google has called out Meta for their excessive battery use. Users that have a larger Social Graph seem to be most affected. The Social Graph is based on the number of friends, posts, users who commented on posts and content of those posts, friends of friends. This is where they get their info to sell to advertisers resulting in posting $51 billion dollars in just the last quarter for using an app that is free. You are the product being sold and that is just their business model.

Depends on the apps you have installed and your Battery Health percentage.

  • Post a screenshot of the apps using your battery and the green battery graph at Settings > Battery. Instagram has already been identified as a power hungry app using your battery even when the app is not open, but not sure if that is the case for you.
  • What is the Battery Health percentage?
