Mac Freezing Because of Mouse:

A. Confirm Device Compatibility:

Look on the original packaging, and see what is required. If upgrading to a newer macOS version is mandatory, the consider doing so, or just using a different mouse. Look up the model of Logitech's site, and see if it this is an option to your device.

B. Use a Mouse Pad or Desk Pad:

If you are sung transparent or otherwise reflective desk, use a mousepad or a desk pad, to avoid reflections from the imminent bulb.

C. Change the Batteries:

If it came with batteries, then they my be low in power. So, try new batteries.

D. Single-Out this Mouse:

Try another mouse, and see if you get the same issue. If not, it is the Mac itself. If so, then it is the mouse, itself.

E. Boot in Safe Mode: [Hold Down: shift key, upon boot], In Safe ModeLogin Items do not run at login, certain preferences are set aside, and damaged system files are then reset. So, once booted in to Safe Mode, wait 30 seconds, and then boot up normally, attempting this once more.

F. Reset the SMC and your NVRAMSometimes when changes are made to the system(i.e. updates), system configurations (i.e. for Mouse) become manipulated, technically. So, reset the SMC and NVRAM. It may take three times to perform each. So, be certain you have the time to do so.
