Changing standard app for opening .docx and other Microsoft documents

I've just skipped from one MacBookAir to the other where I use Libre office instead of Microsoft word - of various reasons. But when I click the icons of a word document on the desktop - it automatically opens the "Pages" app. It is set as "standard".

So I have tried to find a place where I can change this standard from Pages to Libre. I remember having done such operations on an earlier mac, but this memory is quite blurred.

Right click on a docx file and select open with. Then select "Other". Select the app you want to use and make sure you check the box to always open with that app.

That should change the file association for all files of that type.
