Cannot revert Macintosh HD icon to original on a Macbook Pro M4 max. Tried the usual way of:
Get info->Select icon in upper left corner
Press delete key (also tried command x and command z)
This just yielded a beep, and no change
Also tried, logging as root and doing the above, but same result
Also tried rebooting into Recovery, disabling SID, reboot and doing the above but same result.
Can someone throw me a bone? I'm running Tahoe 26.1
Nevermind, I finally found the path to location of the original file:
/System/Library/Extensions/IOStorageFamily.kext/Contents/Resources/Internal.icns
Just dragged and dropped the original internal.icns file onto the Get Info window icon and wa-la, it's restored.
