My iPhone 17 and my 2024 macbook air both operating tahoe (IOS 26) are on the same network and are logged into my apple account yet they cannot see/recognize each other. How do I fix this?

You can not pair an iPhone and a computer via bluetooth.
That has never been supported.
What are you hoping to accomplish?
You need to clarify exactly what you're doing / where you are looking that you believe they can not see or recognize each other...
I am looking at bluetooth devices that both the phone and the computer recognize. My computer recognizes my AirPods. My phone recognizes my AirPods and my husband's computer. Should they not see each other? BTW I have tried connecting the two devices with a cable and that does not make a difference.
