iOS apps repeatedly re-prompt for major permissions
I am experiencing a near-breaking issue where every single app re-prompts for all major permissions each session. This means each time I open my phone, use car play, run a shortcut, etc., I am unable to use functionality like maps, location services, and widgets until I manually navigate into the app and address the prompt.
This issue came up a couple weeks back, and I see the only other forum has been closed without resolution.
No suggestion for resolution has worked, including restarting my phone and flipping permissions between “Never” and my preferred option in Settings. My iOS is on the latest public version.
This is something I’d expect for some new permissions across updates, but not consistently for all major permissions.
Some examples that occur across each session:
Maps requires me to manually open the app to accept permissions before using any location in CarPlay.
Weather display in any form fails to load unless I open the Weather app to accept permissions.
Shortcuts using location hang at the location step, and won’t succeed without re-running from within the Shortcuts app, then accepting the permission.
