Worried about potential screen scratch

Hey all.

So i my first iphone 17 got damaged, got an express replacement through applecare+.

But now i am constantly worried/paranoid about it happening again. When i was placing my sim in the tray, my thumbnail ran across the screen and over the ‘gap’ because i wasn’t looking and now i am obsessing over getting scratches or whatever…

I have nothing to worry about, do i? Am i just being overly paranoid over nothing and being silly?

i just want to be sure, so i don’t feel as stupid anymore.

This is why Apple Stores, BestBuy Stores and online retailers sell screen protectors every day. If you are worried about scratching your new iPhone screen, invest a few dollars in a good quality screen protector. I really like the new ESR Corning Glass protectors, personally. Easily ordered from Amazon with a virtually impossible to mess up installation system.

When I get a new iPhone, it gets a good screen protector applied before it is even powered on out of the box.

As mentioned, getting a good screen protector can help calm your fears. I normally buy super cheap TPU film screen protectors but currently I have the Zagg XTR 5 Blue Light Glass Screen Protector on my iPhone 17 Pro Max (full disclosure though…I received the protector complimentary for testing and review purposes because I am a product tester). I’m usually not a fan of pricey glass protectors but I’m also pretty good with my devices so damage isn’t a big concern for me. With that said…I’m actually impressed with it. I don’t know if I’m pay full price impressed (again, I don’t typically have issues with damaging devices or anything so I’m not truly the best target market for this) but if someone is super worried about protection for their screens and wants a blue light option that doesn’t affect the way the screen looks or feels it may be worth it. There are so many options out there though that you can definitely find what you need
