How do I fix a stuck 'slide to power off' screen and unresponsive apps on iPhone after an iOS update?

My phone is stuck on the "slide to power off" screen, and I'm getting a little scared and mad. Today, my phone was acting up, YouTube was slow, TikTok was slow, and I couldn't open Twitter. So I thought it was just my phone was being slow, so I decided to restart it by pressing the volume and power buttons. But when I tried to slide to power off, it was not moving. I tried pressing cancel that didn't work, tried pressing medical aid, that didn't work either. I let the phone automatically go to black and tried to redo it that way. It got me out of the screen, but the apps are not opening. What should I do? I believe this is something to do with the new IOS update.

Hello once more~ Try this way of restarting from a fellow forum member *Axel Foley** and see if that helps. Then check battery health if successful…

**”(1) Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).

(2) If the above does not work then - Follow the instructions in this article by Apple ➔ If your iPhone is Non-Responsive or Frozen and see if that helps.
