Wrong Primary Email In Contacts

I updated my iPhone 16 with the new ios26 today. The contact lists show incorrect emails as the primary contact. I tried to edit, but the incorrect email does not show up there. I then tried to delete the contact completely and re-enter the info with the correct email, but the incorrect one comes back. The correct email is displayed in the "home" section, but not in the "email" area. How can I get the correct emails entered into the contact information? Very frustrating!

in settings, apps, contacts, Contacts accounts, how many accounts? and which ones have Contacts toggled on?

If you ever turn off contacts on an account you should always choosedelete, otherwise if you turn it on again you will get double the content.

Choose the one account where your contacts live and turn it on.

Many of the regulars including me are over 70, age us just a number.

Hello!

The problem is not with "My Card", but within the other contact names, they have put my son's email address on my brother's name and my brother's email address on his name. I cannot change the emails and as I said, I deleted the contact all together and re-entered, but the wrong email address still shows up under the email slot. This only happened when I downloaded the new iOS26.

Your question isn’t clear to me. Do you mean your contact card? If you open Contacts what does it give for My Card?

Under Accounts in the app...iCloud Drive, iCloud Mail, Contacts and 9 more...

I don't know what you mean by toggled on.

Only Contacts are synced to the iCloud. So I should turn off Contacts and keep them on my iPhone or delete from my iPhone? Mail is not synced with the iCloud.
