When I 'show desktop' the icons and files on the desktop are there. But when I click the 'show desktop' keystroke again (to bring the windows back on the screen) the icons disappear.
This is new on Tahoe.
How do I stop this?

Not sure what "keystroke" this is...?
make some changes to your settings and compare your results.
Get back to terra firma, turning off the bells & whistles— and go from there...
