Do Not Disturb Focus turning ON when Screen Sharing, possible for it to automatically turn OFF when done?

Mac OS keeps turning Do Not Disturb on when I share my screen in a Zoom meeting or a Loom screen recording, etc. I have a third-party app that blocks notifications when I screen share, so I don't think this is really necessary. I have gone into Settings > Notifications > and toggled "Show Notifications when mirroring or sharing the display" to "Allow notifications" and that suits me just fine because of the third party app that I mentioned, but it keeps putting all of my Apple devices to DND anyway, including my iPhone and Apple Watch.

I wouldn't mind this if:

  • Do Not Disturb Focus turned OFF once I'm not sharing my screen anymore
  • This Focus only impacted my MacBook and not my other devices

I screen share a lot throughout the day for work and I've missed important texts from friends, etc. because DND Focus was on and I didn't realize it was happening and it's just annoying.

Is there a Shortcut or something that I can set up to do any of the above so that I don't have to remember to turn it off after I screen share? Please help!

When I share my screen in a Zoom meeting, no Focus modes are turned on automatically. As you see, none are selected, so there's nothing to turn off because they are not turned on.

I cannot find any settings in Zoom that would automatically enable DND. I wonder if this is something resulting from that 3rd party app you mention? See if the problem is present when you boot in safe mode, which disables 3rd party extensions and performs some system cleanup.

I have the same issue. Starting from macOS Tahoe, whenever I mirror or extend my screen to my iPad, DND automatically turns on, and this setting is shared across all my devices. This is a terrible and annoying bug that makes me turn it off every single time after connecting. It's frustrating that no one is trying to fix it, even in macOS 26.2.
