my iphone battery suddenly started showing service and i never replaced it

Probably time you did. What is the health at Settings, Battery, Battery health? Less than 80% needs replacing.

Yes have apple replace it ASAP, and keep it backed up daily until you do as it could fail any day https://support.apple.com
