CarPlay is not responding on my iPhone after the screen has been off for 2 minutes

On my iOS 17 phone, version 26.1, I'm using CarPlay to connect to my car's infotainment system. After my phone screen is off and I wait for 2 minutes, I try to access the CarPlay icon on the car's system but it won't open. I'm sure I sent a request to UI, but my iPhone doesn't reply to me with any messages until I turn the screen back on. Only then does the phone reply with "setup, mode change". Can you tell me why this is happening?
