How do I fix speech-to-text issues with auto-correction and sentence rewriting on iPhone 17 Pro Max?

I am now on an iPhone 17 Pro Max. I was told that the keyboard issues that I was having on my iPhone 13 Pro. Max was not a bug to update the operating system and then when I migrated my phone, everything should be OK. Yeah, it’s a bug so my back up contained a bug and it came back down on my new phone. I’m having trouble with speech to text sometimes it rewrite the whole sentence. Sometimes on Facebook I use speech to text and I can’t post because there is no arrow as if I were still typing so sometimes I have to copy the post delete the post and paste the post and hit return.

We turned off auto correction we turned off predictive text. Because that was doing something wrong like I couldn’t say the word can’t and it would turn into something totally weird. It seems to be working fine in the space right now because I’m using speech to text. I’m wondering if anyone has the same issue because if I swear I have to set up my phone again from scratch I’m going to freak out.

Original Title: The migration to my iPhone 17 Pro Max has included the problems with my keyboard. I use speech to text because I have cubital tunnel syndrome. Sometimes it AutoCorrect into weird words or even backs up and retype the whole sentence differently.

The dictation feature on an iPhone uses automatic punctuation to assist with the transcription of your speech into written text. Sometimes, it may add full stops (periods) to indicate the end of a sentence and insert commas where it interprets a pause or natural break in your speech.

However, the accuracy of automatic punctuation in dictation can vary, and it may not always accurately capture your intended sentence structure. It's important to keep in mind that dictation is an automated process, and it relies on algorithms to interpret your spoken words and convert them into written text.

To improve the punctuation accuracy when using dictation on your iPhone, you need to take care of the following tips:

  1. Ensure that you speak clearly and pronounce words accurately. This can help the dictation system better understand your intended sentence structure.
  2. To assist with punctuation, you can verbally indicate punctuation marks like "period," "comma," or "question mark" when appropriate. This can help guide the dictation system in accurately punctuating your text.
  3. After using dictation, you can manually review and edit the punctuation as needed. This allows you to correct any inaccuracies and ensure the text reflects your intended sentence structure.

Keep in mind that dictation is continually improving with advancements in technology and updates to iOS. Newer versions of iOS may offer enhanced dictation features and improved accuracy.

Sorry I spoke above. I wasn’t meaning to I wanted to reply to you. I’ve worked for Apple for 10 years and I have never seen issues. I’ve been on iPhone since 2006. The gist of the matter is that I am speaking clearly slowly using punctuation, but what is happening is that is auto correcting whole sentences at a time. Now while I dictate this right now, it is doing fine so I am wondering if maybe some of the content that I write on social media or something like that is not comprehending or it’s inhibiting the use of speech to text.

What are your thoughts about a bug?
