I just got the iPhone 17 Pro Max. On my 14 Pro Max, in text messages I could click on the contact and see all the images, videos, links and docs we shared. On my iPhone 17 Pro Max, I see documents and links but all of the images and videos are gone. How do I resolve this, I've had the phone for 5 days.
It’s an ongoing software issue according to Apple. I have had this issue since my new 17 pro max and they said they are working on it.
If you had turned on Messages in iCloud then if you delete Photos and Videos from the iCloud it is deleted from iPhone Photos too, and vice-versa.
And if you happen to take a backup either over iTunes or iCloud after deleting Photos and Videos all the photos are deleted from the backup (iCloud/iTunes) too.
If you had turned on Messages in iCloud your content including photos are automatically stored in iCloud and is available on all devices that use the same Apple ID. See the pic below.
