Apple Maps lost voice guidance

Apple Maps has no voice navigation. Was listening to iheartradio and only had visual route guidance. Before leaving my destination I made sure phone volume was up. I turned off silent mode which was only on to silence things like text notifications. Still no audio guidance. Went into apps and went to the maps settings and made sure voice navigation was on (which it was). Also turned on setting to get audio over radio. None of that worked. Audio route guidance worked before so why does it work now?
