Update software w/ phone wanting to shut off?
My phone will not stay powered for more than a few seconds and dies, with being plugged in. I cannot update software. How do I complete this process?

Who replaced the battery? Whoever it was likely did not complete the job correctly. Take the phone back to the shop.
If the battery checks out OK, then there is a separate hardware problem on the main circuit board.
Unfortunately, if the phone needs board repairs or replacement, that is an expensive task that will erase the data on the phone during the process. No way to avoid that, sorry.
