iPhone 17 Pro Max battery area overheating during light use

Hello Apple Community Support,

My iPhone 17 Pro Max is overheating. I purchased it about one month ago.

The phone gets very hot around the battery area, even during light use. This happens without gaming or heavy apps.

I am not using any case or screen protector.

Please advise what steps I should take and whether this could be a hardware or battery issue.
