Battery level drains on iPad 10th on iPadOS 26

On my 10th-generation iPad, the battery level drains excessively fast. With light usage such as web browsing or office applications the battery discharges from full to zero within 5–6 hours.

The iPad is relatively new (about one year old) and has been used infrequently, so the battery should still be in good condition.

The issue appeared after the release of iPadOS 26.0 and has not been resolved since then (it has been ongoing for three months). I have tried resetting settings, rebooting the device, and setting it up again from scratch. None of these actions helped.

Please advise on how this problem can be fixed.

Given your description, you would be best advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support - and request a remote diagnostic test of your iPad. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page.

Alternatively you can initiate and manage your support cases using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed on your iPad, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

You might also visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to hands-on test and assess your iPad. If a fault is identified, you will be in the best possible place to explore your available options:
