Thanks for the tip, but despite the longevity of its presence, it doesn’t work. It is a workaround.
Your tip will free up the space, but eventually the System Data re-fills all available the newly-freed data. This comes at the expense of the hassle of restoring from backup.
This remains a bug unsolved by Apple. There is no fix.

While Apple has certainly made this problem more difficult and frustrating than it should have ever been, it's not an Apple bug per se. And there is a fix. Finding it will be a challenge, but there's always a fix.
I recommend starting your own question with your own details to find the fix.
