How to remove items in Allow in the Background

I don't have a question but more of a solution for people having the same issue. In case you have an unknown app in your settings/general/login items/ allow in the background, especially the one called TPZ Solucoes Digitais, you may delete it from the system by using the following steps:

In Finder, go to the following folders:

  • /Library/LaunchDaemons
  • /Library/LaunchAgents (for items that affect all users)

Then find the items and delete them.

good luck

Add to that list:

~/Library/LaunchAgents

(items limited to that Account)

To summarize the comprehensive list:

~/Library/LaunchAgents

/Library/LaunchDaemons

/Library/LaunchAgents

Depending on the specific apps or processes invoked (not necessarily "TPZ Solucoes Digitais") it may be required to start the Mac in "Safe Mode" to delete them: Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support. Otherwise they may just reappear.

There is likely (>99% chance) there is nothing nefarious about those items.

They exist because you installed something in the past that ran a background process. The background processes were always there and you didn't care that they were running because you didn't know that they were there.

That particular signature appears to belong to some security software used by banks (or, at least by the Bank of Brazil).

Older items didn't include any app references in their bundles, so all macOS can provide is the name used on the code signature.
