Unknown icon when recording voice messages with AirPods

What is this icon?

When I record a voice message, this app uses my microphone. I've never seen such an icon, and now I'm even wondering where it came from.

Moreover, it is displayed only when I am in the Airpods (or it was not displayed for other reasons)
