Messages screen share defaults to audio remotely

How do i screen share with another person in a different country?

Strange, in Messages, I try to do a screen share that method but I keep getting connected by FaceTime audio. I'm helping a guy set up his new iMac and hopefully get his data from his old iMac transferred. I'm in the US and he is in Australia. His iMac is a M4 iMac.
