Continuity Camera not working without integrated or plugged in camera even in macOS 26.2

I cannot test this, since I am using a MacBook Pro, which of course has a built-in camera.

I may try it on a Mac Studio at the office, but maybe only tomorrow.

For what it's worth, it's difficult to believe a feature that Macs without a built-in camera, which would have the most use, doesn't work except for with Macs that already have a camera. And certainly wouldn't be designed to require a separate webcam to work. I think something else must be wrong. One person's opinion of course.

See if Continuity Camera works without the old webcam connection step when you boot in safe mode, which disables 3rd party extensions and performs some system cleanup.

If so, then it points to an issue with some 3rd party software you've installed on your system.

It should work on your Mac Mini, per Apple. Ensure you are meeting the requirements that include not using AirPlay or sidecar.

Just curious, does your 20 year old webcam have its own drivers/software? If so, you may want to uninstall them and see if it helps.
