I checked back to respond to people that replied to my post and to my surprise the jpg I uploaded does not show any pink background. Obviously that was an issue with my mac only. Going back to settings/Displays , I turned off True Tone and the pink background disappeared. I don't believe I ever turned it on, but probably was turned on by the 26.2 update somehow.
Thanks to those who responded.
Or messing with those options triggered something. When I tried out various options I had trouble undoing them since it appeared they interacted with one another. I finally was able to get back to what seemed the default, but just toggling the options I had modified until it looked like the default. The next time I tried modifying those options, they seemed to behave like they expected.
Tahoe's graphical interface is really messed up. Apple did not test the graphical behavior before releasing to the public. Visual bugs should be the easiest ones to notice since they usually occur right away. Really bad for an OS that was touted to be visually stunning.
Good job figuring it out & thanks for following up with the solution.
