Malfunctioning iPhone saved or not?

My phone had stripes and turned green and made my screen pitch black and the red light started blinking, later on I plugged it in to my laptop and the malfunctions faded and my phone works, even restarted to test if its doing well. So far it is, i assume it was battery problems as I used my macbook charger. Is my phone still good even when tested and what could have happened?
