I need to download a series of messages from my iPhone 16 to my Windows 11 PC. What is the best/safest way to do that? There seem to be lots of third party apps but I have no idea which ones work and which are safe. Thank you.

One way is to take a screenshot of the message:

… then download the screenshot to your PC.
Transfer photos and videos from your iPhone or iPad to your Mac or PC - Apple Support
Go to the earliest message, enable screen recording, and manually scroll through the timeline.
I’d periodically pull to the left for the messages while scrolling as well, if the timestamps are important and should be included in the recording.

Thank you for this response. I have done the screenshot before when it has been only a couple of messages. But I have 6 months of messages with a contractor, subcontractors, and tradesmen that I need to "archive" for the record so I think the screen recording might be the best bet for that. Wish there were a better way - similar to the way I can access all my photos. But alas, not yet.
Thank you. I will give this a try. I still may need to break it between recordings since I have 6 months to record. But this is definitely an improvement over screen shots. I looked online at 3rd party Apps, but every one seems to have a few good and a few terrible experiences. Some comments on a couple were that you data would be accessible to the company, and I definitely did not want that. Appreciate this option.
