“Allow Contact Editing” feature in Screentime not working properly - IOS 26

Having problems with the “Allow Contact Editing” feature in Screentime for iOS 26. I have the feature toggled in the off position (greyed out) in my parental controls for one of my kids’ phones, but when I test it on her phone, I can add/edit contacts without any problems. On my other child’s phone, I don’t have this issue. Turning off the “Allow Contact Editing” toggle successfully blocks adding/editing contacts without any issue.

Any known fixes for this?

Refer to the image below. If the first three steps have been completed on the device as shown in the accompanying images, your child can add or delete contacts at will.

  • If disabled, the Contacts app becomes read-only — no adding, editing, or deleting.
  • If enabled, the user can fully manage contacts.
  • Requires the Screen Time passcode to change, ensuring kids can’t bypass it
