Remote control of iMac TV
I occasionally watch TV on my iMac. Is there any kind of remote that I can install in order to control volume and tuning?
iMac 27″, macOS 15.6
I haven't used this remote, but it might be worth researching.
Satechi – R2 Bluetooth Multimedia Remote Control
The manufacturer claims that it is compatible with the following iMacs:
- iMac 24-inch (2021 - 2024)
- iMac 21.5-inch (2017 - 2021)
- iMac 27-inch (2017 - 2020)
If your 27" iMac is running Sequoia, that would imply that it has a hardware model year of 2019 or 2020 and that it is on this remote's compatibility list.
As far as infrared remotes, I don't believe that Macs have had infrared receivers in a long, long time (if ever), so you can scratch any remote control that depends on infrared (rather than Bluetooth or Wi-Fi) off your list.
