How to Enable Follow Actions on Loops in Logic Pro?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to use Follow Actions on loops in Logic Pro, but I’m not sure what the correct workflow is or whether this is fully supported.

What I’m looking for is the ability to have loops automatically trigger other loops (or variations) based on rules such as:

  • next / previous loop

  • random or weighted random

  • after X bars or X repeats

Similar to Follow Actions in Ableton Live, but applied to loops or loop-like regions in Logic.

I’ve experimented with:

  • Live Loops cells

  • Regions in the Tracks area

  • Looping regions with cycle mode

But I can’t find a clear or reliable way to define follow-style behavior between loops.

Is this:

  1. Possible natively in Logic Pro (Live Loops or otherwise)?

  2. Achievable via a workaround (markers, automation, MIDI FX, Environment, etc.)?

  3. Simply not supported at all at the moment?

If anyone has a proven method, limitation explanation, or best practice, I’d really appreciate the clarification.

Thanks in advance.
