AirPlay not working correctly on Apple Music on MacBook Pro

I'm on a MacBook Pro M1 Max running Tahoe 26.2. I can successfully use AirPlay to send sounds to my Apple TV using Sound Settings in the menu bar. I can also successfully play music in Apple Music by selecting my Apple TV from the button at the bottom of the Apple Music window. However, if I quit the Apple Music app and reopen it, the app plays through my MacBook speakers instead of my Apple TV even though the button shows that the Apple TV is still selected. To get it to work properly, I have to unselect the Apple TV and then reselect it (and unselect my MacBook speakers).

I am trying to play music through my Apple TV (which plays sound through my AV receiver), but play sounds from the system or other apps through my MacBook speakers. It used to work that way until the most recent update. Is there some way to fix this issue?
