Earphone audio very faint on one side.

For reference I'm using a Macbook Air that's running Monterey. It's a few years old, I'm not sure about the exact age.

The wired earphones I just bought barely work on the right side. I've tried everything I could to fix it. Like rebalancing my audio, cleaning out the headphone jack, amongst other things. Nothing's worked. Is there anything else I can try?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.7

I would try it with another device, if possible; if it's still not working correctly, it's probably a hardware issue. You mentioned you just bought them so I would return them for a refund/replacement.
