iPhone 16e silicone case is disintegrating

My iPhone 16e Apple-branded silicone case is peeling apart at the corners under normal use. I purchased it with my iPhone 16e in February 2025 through T-Mobile. It's 10 months old at this writing.

I've read any number of posts from users reporting similar issues. It seems that Apple does not honor its 1 year warranty on these clearly defective cases.

Any advice? I don't want to waste my time going to the Apple Store if I'm going to get no joy. BTW, Apple-only since 1995 and a former volunteer on these very forums. Thanks in advance.

Apple-branded accessories do have a 1-year limited warranty against "defects in materials and workmanship" (Legal - Accessory Warranty - Apple), that much is true. I suppose the only tricky part might be convincing the Apple Store employee(s) that the case is indeed defective and wasn't abused. I've never had to ask for a warranty replacement on an accessory, so I can't offer any first-hand experience, but my advice would be to give it a shot if you have the time and inclination. The worst they can say is no.
