Using Guitar Pro app on MacBook Pro

Has anyone had experience with using Guitar Pro (.gp files) on their Macbook Pro's?

I am getting guitar tabs offered with .pdf format and .gp format. I usually use the PDF versions, but would like to try the Guitar Pro files since they have other features that you can actually play along with (if I understand correctly).

So I'd like to hear from anyone who has the Guitar Pro app loaded on to their Macbook Pro and how it's working out.
