It’s nice how HP doesn’t list macOS support for that printer.

Based on some other HP docs, it does support AirPrint.

Use the printer control panel to check for new firmware, or use the embedded web server if you can. See user guide page 74, as there is firmware from 2022.

After checking for new firmware, remove the printer from your macOS configuration, and (if you're using vendor drivers) re-add it using AirPrint and not vendors drivers. If you’re already using it with AirPrint, remove it and re-add it as an AirPrint printer.

Failing that, check the date and time on your Mac equipment, and check on the printer.

Also see the following for a potential means to update the certificate on the printer:

This certificate renewal usually happens automatically, but some printers can require a sequence or a reset. The printer reset sequence is on page 80.

Based on the lack of Windows 11 and such on some printer-related support pages, it looks like this printer fell off HP support. AirPrint can potentially work around that, if HP is no longer providing vendor printer drivers.

HP printers can also get cranky about the source of printer supplies too, including printers even occasionally bricking themselves when equipped with genuine HP supplies. (The HP LaserJet MFP M232-M237 printers were affected by this boo-boo.) They also offer subscription printers, meaning a payment card is on file somewhere.

What is the exact error message you are encountering please? Exact wording please.

"Not certified" is ambiguous at best. Some HP printers in particular will object to a toner cartridge they deem inadequate or nonconforming or something equally inadequate, and (reportedly) have even objected to genuine HP items. Or, it may be an expired security certificate. Do you need to purchase a subscription or pay a ransom to keep using that printer? I am only being slightly facetious with that question. You might.

The HP Color LaserJet Pro M452dw printer is AirPrint-enabled. Is it installed that way?

That explanation seems likely.
