AirDrop only works about 25% of the time
Airdrop used to be so amazing, now it only works about 25% of the time. Why??

What macOS version is your Macbook Air running?

No issues here with:
M4 Pro Macbook Pro running 26.2
iPhone SE 2020 iOS 26.2
On an older iMac running Mojave I sometimes have to go to Finder > Go > Airport and temporarily switch from "Contacts only to "everyone."
On your phone, do Settings > General > Airdrop and see if "Out of Rangel Use cellular data" is turned on.
