Cannot delete old Iphoto and photo libraries from MAC

Hello Wizards on MAC,

Please don't tell me to restart the MAC, i done that several times.

This problem started after i migrated the libraries from iphotos to photos, then my hard drive was too full.

I purchase a third party software called Power Photos to help with sorting and eliminating duplicate photos.(they support team cannot help me :-(

I even delete the software from the MAC, restarted the machine and try to empty the trash again, no go.

The software was able to reduce the size and sort out the duplicates.

I send the two libraries not needed to trash, but cannot delete them.

See attached files screen shots.

Best Regs.

ached the screen shots from the messages.

Please advise

Did you use the restart command or did you shut down the Mac?

Try a complete shut down.

And then start up again, but try to start up in Safe Mode (Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac - Apple Support) and try to empty the Trash in this mode.

Your last screen shot is showing, that most of the items from the two libraries have already been deleted. The size of the libraries in the Trash bin is shown as 0 GB. Did you already get some free storage back?

You cannot delete your posts - you can only edit the posts within 15 minutes after posting them. Only the community hosts can remove posts, if it is very important to you to see the question gone.

Usually the discussions are kept for a long time, so others with a similar problem can see the solution and need not ask a similar question as well.

As far as I can tell, you did not reveal any critical information, like your AppleID, user account name, or device serial numbers in your screenshot, or someone would have removed them already by now.

Shall I ask the hosts to remove the discussion?

But I am glad that Safe Mode helped to empty your trash 😊
