I just got a message from a secure website saying my phone has been compromised. Is this a scam?

Yes, I would assume so;
iPhones are prone to most viruses or other Malware, I do not believe that your data has been compromised.
I think you meant to say that iPhones are NOT prone to viruses or malware.

I have made my share of errors too over the years. You type fast and don’t really read it closely, then you go back and wonder where your brain was when you wrote something.
