screen time PW for kids phone

I set up screen time on both my kids phone and for myself. Somehow I forgot the PW (even though I am so very sure I knew what I set) I reset my iphone on this allowed me to get around my password but it still remains there for the kids phone.

I set up a new phone for one of the kids and as soon as i put in his apple id the restrictions came back.

i am super stressed about this. Is there anything I can do. I can only think about creating new Apple ID's for them

Unfortunately your kids will not be happy:

If you forgot the [restrictions or ScreenTime passcode] for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - http://support.apple.com/HT204306 - You can restore from a backup but that backup has to date from before you set the restrictions/Screen Time passcode
