Saving an html file as a Favorite

When I save an html file as a favorite I cannot left click to open it from the Favorite Bar. Instead I have to right click and Open in New Tab. Other favorites open like normal. — iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, 2017) — Safari 12.1.1

Not my experience with Safari 12.1.1 on macOS Mojave 10.14.5. As long as the referenced HTML file has a valid path expressed as a file URI (file:///Users/yourname/foo.html), then it will launch with a single-click from Favorites.
