iphoto:Photos cannot find the System Photo Library named “Photos Library.photoslibrary”

Hi! I just tried to open my Photos app on my mac and got this error: Photos cannot find the System Photo Library named “Photos Library.photoslibrary”. I'm on High Sierra version 10.13.6. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Can you find the library? By default it should be in your Pictures folder, called Photos Library.photoslibrary.

Is there such a library in the Pictures folder in your home folder? if yes, double click the library to open it in Photos.

if you moved your Photos Library somewhere else, for example to an external drive, make sure, that this drive is plugged in and mounted.
