New phone text messages
Just got an iPhone x. Text messages arrive on phone and do not show up on my iPad like they did with old iPhone. Or show up on iPad and not on phone. How do I get them to show up on both devices?
iPhone X, iOS 11

If the message is green then it is a Text Message. This means that it comes through your SIM card/carrier and will only go to the device with the SIM card. If the message is blue, it is an iMessage. This is transferred over wifi and can come through on any apple device like Mac, watch and iPad
