Problems with Mail Version 11.5 (3445.9.1)

I am unable to send photo attachments with mail Version 11.5 (3445.9.1).

After I attach a photo and hit the send button the window with the outgoing mail opens and then minimises and continues to do this without sending the email with attached photo.

I have to highlight and delete this message on the outbox folder to stop this.

This has just started after I returned from holiday and downloaded some photos from my Canon camera? But It is also doing it with photos that have been on my desktop for many years.

Is there a repair kit for this? Any ideas as to how to rectify this?

I can attach and send photos through Google Mail.

Best regards

Mem

Thank you for the answer, as it seems that you have pointed me to the cause the problem.

I recently changed from Runbox to Gmail and it seems that Gmail is the problem.

File sizes is about 10 mb and i have been unable to send with Gmail but when I change my outgoing mail server to runbox the problem disappears.

So I think the problem must be with using the Gmail account and the size of the message.

gMail limit for attachments is 35 MB or 50 MB...

gMail doesn't allow some kinds of attachments though...

Types you can't include as attachments

To protect your account, Gmail doesn't allow you to attach certain types of files. Gmail often updates the types of files not allowed to keep up with harmful software that is constantly changing. Some examples include:

.ADE, .ADP, .APK, .BAT, .CHM, .CMD, .COM, .CPL, .DLL, .DMG, .EXE, .HTA, .INS, .ISP, .ISO, .JAR, .JS, .JSE, .LIB, .LNK, .MDE, .MSC, .MSI, .MSP, .MST, .NSH, .PIF, .SCR, .SCT, .SHB, .SYS, .VB, .VBE, .VBS, .VXD, .WSC, .WSF,

So its not the size of file that is the problem but it is the type of file.

I am attaching photos from my Canon EOS 5 camera, these are in the jpeg format.

I have tried with some old photos from my desktop, low resolution and the problem occurs again.

So it seems that Gmail will not accept any photos as attachments

I just tried attaching a pdf file and the same problem occur, Gmail as an outgoing mail server cannot be used for sending any attachments

So I think my problem is with Gmail and not with Mail.

Thanks for your input.
